Professor Janet Box-Steffensmeier Selected for a Barry Prize

Vernal Riffe Professor of Political Science Janet Box-Steffensmeier has been selected to receive one of ten Barry Prizes from the American Academy of Sciences and Letters.

This prize honors scholars across disciplines that have “made outstanding contributions to humanity’s knowledge, appreciation, and cultivation of the good, the true, and the beautiful.”

Dr. Box-Steffensmeier’s research focuses on American politics and methodology. She earned her PhD at the University of Texas and has taught at OSU since 1993. In her time at her current position, she has been recognized for her many achievements and served in various leadership roles, including serving as the President of the American Political Science Association.

The award will be conferred at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. later this year.
