Profile of Kara Hooser

PhD Candidate Kara Hooser was recently awarded a research grant from the small grants program of the Women, Gender, & Politics Research Section of the American Political Science Association (APSA). The grant will be used to fund fieldwork in Northern Ireland exploring everyday, gendered experiences of peace.

Kara's dissertation, “Violence as Peace: Stories of Everyday Masculinities, Violence, and Peace After Armed Conflict,” looks at the relationship between war-linked masculinities, colonialism, and the persistence of everyday violence after war.

Congratulations, Kara!
