Donald A. Sylvan (Ph.D., Minnesota, 1974), joined the OSU Political Science Faculty in 1974. Sylvan has research and teaching interests in International Politics and Political Psychology, with particular attention to Middle East Politics and the politics of international terrorism. In 2005, he “retired” from OSU, became Emeritus, and moved to New York to become President and CEO of a non-profit organization. He stayed in that position until he moved to Toronto in 2013 to accept the Executive Directorship of another non-profit organization. In 2016, Sylvan returned to Columbus, where he has been teaching courses in Middle East politics and international terrorism.
