Jyhjong Hwang is a Ph.D. candidate in International Relations. Her research interests are in the politics of foreign aid, international development, international cooperation, and China-Africa relations. Her recent research projects include resource-secured loans in developing countries, Chinese hydropower projects in Africa, and African military hardware procurement from China. Hwang earned an M.A. in International Development and International Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University. She served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Namibia.
