Laurie Georges and Cameron Macaskill

Two Political Science graduate students, Laurie Georges and Cameron Macaskill, have been announced as recipients of the 2025-2026 Graduate Associate Teaching Awards (GATA)! This award is Ohio State's highest recognition of the exceptional teaching provided by graduate students teaching at the graduate level. 

Laurie Georges (pictured on the left) is a PhD candidate specializing in International Relations and Comparative Politics. Her dissertation examines systemic pressures to erase non-core identity groups in states, and how erasure perpetuates itself in the modern international system. Laurie teaches POLITSC 3310: Defense Policy and National Security.

Cameron Macaskill (pictured on the right) is a PhD Candidate in International Relations and Comparative Politics, with research interests in global governance and international order. Cameron taught POLITSC 3240: Political Violence.
