Jason Keiber is the Finalist in the Outstanding Graduate Associate Teaching Award

Jason Keiber, a graduate student in the Department of Political Science was given the honor of coming in as the Finalist in the Outstanding Graduate Associate Teaching Award.  This award is particularly meaningful because the award is entirely administered by students through the Arts and Sciences Student Council.  Students must nominate the Graduate Student Instructors and they are also the ones that vote for the winner.

Initiated in 2010, the Arts and Sciences Outstanding Graduate Associate Teaching Award recognizes the valuable teaching contributions of Arts and Sciences graduate students.  Each year the graduate associate winner and finalists are recognized for this honor at the Arts and Sciences Spring Recognition Reception. This year the reception was held on April 1st in the Faculty Club.

Keiber describes his teaching philosophy: “To teach is a joy and a privilege. My focus in the classroom is less on drilling course content ad nauseam and more on fostering a lasting curiosity. Politics is so compelling, and its stakes are real. I want my students to see this. To that end, I simply try my hardest to make my excitement about the material and my love for learning contagious. “

Jason Keiber is in his 7th year in the program and his focus of study is in International Relations.
