Political Science student Elan Kyser, working with Engineering student Haikal Rozaidi, placed third in the Business, Society, and International Relations category at this year's Denman Undergraduate Research Forum. This event is an opportunity for graduating OSU students to share their research.

Kyser's project, advised by Dr. Jennifer Mitzen and Dr. Jan Box-Steffensmeier, is titled The Development of Global Governance from the Catholic Church to the United Nations: The Pazzi Conspiracy and the Sanctioning of Iraq. The project investigated similarities between the Catholic Church of the 15th and 16th centuries and the United Nations as international government organizations through a case study on the Pazzi Conspiracy in 1478 and the UN sanctions on Iraq in the 1990s and textual analysis on documents produced by both institutions that quantified linguistic overlap.

Please join us in congratulating Elan Kyser on his outstanding work on this project and at Denman!
