Gregory Schultz
Gregory Schultz has built an impressive career at the intersection of politics, public service, and leadership. He served as Senior Advisor to the Vice President and Special Assistant to the President of the United States during the Obama Administration, where he played a key role in advancing national priorities.
Before joining the White House, Greg was Executive Director of Business Forward, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for American business leaders to engage with policymakers on job creation and economic recovery. His political experience also includes serving as State Director of Ohio for President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign, Ohio Deputy Political Director for the Obama campaign in 2008, and Political Director for Hillary Clinton’s primary campaign in Ohio.
Earlier in his career, Greg worked in state government as Legislative Liaison in the Department of Administrative Services for Ohio Governor Ted Strickland, later becoming Executive Assistant to the Governor, overseeing agencies such as the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, Rehabilitation and Corrections, Youth Services, and Veterans Affairs. He has also held numerous campaign management positions in local and statewide races across Ohio.
Greg’s path to Washington began during his time at The Ohio State University, where he participated in the Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP) an experience that sparked his passion for public service and provided valuable exposure to national politics. Originally from North Royalton, Ohio, Greg earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science (2003) and a Master’s in Education (2004) from Ohio State. Today, he resides in Washington, D.C., and in 2025 was named the inaugural Executive Fellow for the John Glenn College of Public Affairs Washington, D.C., programs, continuing his commitment to leadership development and civic engagement.
