Undergraduate Grace Orians Selected to Present at Prestigious Pi Sigma Alpha National Student Research Conference

The Ohio State University Political Science Department is thrilled to announce that Grace Orians, an outstanding undergraduate student, has been selected to present her research at the 2025 Pi Sigma Alpha National Student Research Conference. This honor reflects Grace's exceptional academic achievements and her dedication to the field of political science.

Grace Orians, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with minors in Spanish and Sociology, has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA. She has been an active member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, where she has served in several key positions. As the Grants Director, Vice President, and President of the Omicron Chapter, Grace has played a pivotal role in organizing events, securing funding, and fostering a vibrant academic community.

In addition to her leadership roles in Pi Sigma Alpha, Grace has gained valuable experience through various internships. She currently serves as a Legislative Intern for Columbus City Council, where she supports the office of President Pro Tem Rob Dorans. Her responsibilities include providing administrative assistance, facilitating communication, and drafting policy proposals. Grace has also worked as a Research Assistant for the Ohio State University Department of Political Science, with Professor Janet Box-Steffensmeier, where she has conducted advanced data analysis and contributed to research on congressional speech networks. She is also writing an undergraduate thesis.

Grace's selection to present at the Pi Sigma Alpha National Student Research Conference is a testament to her hard work and dedication. The conference, which brings together top political science students from across the country, provides a platform for Grace to showcase her research and engage with peers and experts in the field. Her thesis research is supported by an Ohio State Undergraduate Research Scholarship, and her conference travel was fully funded by an Arts and Sciences Award.
