Political Science Department Announces Two Faculty Searches

The Department of Political Science at is seeking applications for two faculty positions beginning in Fall 2027.

Professor or Associate Professor in Law and Courts
The Carter Phillips and Sue Henry Endowed Position in Law and Courts seeks an established scholar whose research has made significant contributions to the study of law and courts. Areas of interest include judicial development, the rule of law, American legal institutions, courts and politics, and state–judiciary relations. The candidate will contribute intellectual leadership through an innovative research agenda and demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring.

Assistant Professor in AI and Politics
The Department is also seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor whose research engages with the intersection of AI and politics. Scholars working on methodological developments involving social science and AI/machine learning, the social and political consequences of algorithmic approaches to public policy, or the regulatory, political, and ethical challenges surrounding AI are welcomed. The position is open with respect to substantive focus and disciplinary subfield within Political Science.
