Amanda Robinson Wins APSA's David Collier Mid-Career Achievement Award

Amanda Robinson

Amanda Robinson, Professor of Political Science, has been named the recipient of the American Political Science Association’s (APSA) David Collier Mid-Career Achievement Award for 2025.

This award recognizes a mid-career political scientist who has made outstanding contributions through methodological innovation, substantive research applying qualitative and multi-method approaches, and service to the field’s methodological community. The award honors David Collier’s impact on political science as a founder of the qualitative and multi-method research movement, as well as his dedication to research, teaching, and institution-building.

Professor Robinson's research focuses on the ways in which identity and culture – defined by nationality, ethnicity, race, and gender – influence political behavior, and how political processes affect identity change, primarily in Africa and among the African diaspora. She also serves the Department of Political Science as the Director of Graduate Studies.

Professor Amanda Robinson is the first Ohio State faculty member to win the David Collier Award.

Congratulations, Professor Robinson!
