Thomas W. Zeiler is Professor of History and International Affairs at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he also directs the Global Studies Academic Program. He teaches U.S. diplomatic history and globalization.

He is author of several books, including Ambassadors in Pinstripes: The Spalding World Baseball Tour and the Birth of the American Empire (Rowman & Littlefield, 2006), Unconditional Defeat: Japan, America, and the End of World War II (Rowman & Littlefield, 2003), Globalization and the American Century (Cambridge, 2003), Dean Rusk: Defending the American Mission Abroad (Scholarly Resources, Inc, 1999), Free Trade, Free World: The Advent of GATT (UNC Press, 1999), and American Trade and Power in the 1960s (Columbia University Press, 1992).

Zeiler serves as the executive editor of Diplomatic History. He is also a member of the State Department's Historical Advisory Committee and SHAFR's Teaching Committee and Governing Council. In addition, he has lived in Buenos Aires and Tokyo as a Senior Fulbright Scholar.

Zeiler received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts.
