Biography
Lauren Elliott-Dorans is an Associate Professor of Teaching in Political Science at Ohio State University. Her teaching and research focuses upon American political behavior and public opinion. She additionally conducts scholarship in pedagogy, examining evidence-based approaches in course design and student engagement at the college level. She earned her BA in psychology and MA in political science from Ohio University, and her PhD in political science from Ohio State University.
Prior to joining Ohio State, Elliott-Dorans served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Kenyon College, an Assistant Professor of Instruction at Ohio University, and a researcher and co-principal investigator on several Ohio-based maternal and child health survey projects, including the Ohio Pregnancy Assessment Survey (OPAS), the Ohio Fatherhood Survey (OFS), and the Ohio Study of Associated Risks of Stillbirth (Ohio SOARS). In addition to numerous public health reports and briefs prepared for Ohio state agencies, her work has also appeared in The Journal of Elections, Public Opinion, and Parties, The Oxford Research Encyclopedia of LGBT Politics, and Computers & Education.
