Department of Political Science’s Mock Trial Team Wins Big at Nationals, Ranks Sixth in nation, setting program record
The Ohio State University Mock Trial team accomplished an 8-4 record at the 33rd AMTA National Championship tournament, securing their place as the 6th best program in the United States. The tournament, hosted by The University of California, Los Angeles, took place April 21-23rd, where 48 high-performing teams competed for the national championship title.
The Ohio State Mock Trial team finished as the top-ranked team in Ohio, and faced a competitive tournament schedule with rounds against Columbia University, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the University of Chicago, and Eastern Kentucky University.
In addition to overall team success, OSU received recognition for two All-American Award winners: Michael Class (4th Year, Political Science Major) won an All-American Witness award, while Eric Roytman (3rd Year, International Business major) won an All-American Attorney award. Eric is the first competitor in the history of the Mock Trial team at OSU to do so.
