Prospective OSU Students
Apart from the requirements for the major, you should know about our Honors Program, including a chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. We also sponsor an undergraduate Political Science Association, we have a vigorous internship program, and we host a variety of events that are of interest to students of politics at all levels of experience.
Your parents, grandparents, and friends are probably all asking you what you are going to do for a job! Political science is a very marketable major. You’ll acquire skills in research and writing, data analysis, and critical thinking that are vital to any job. You’ll be taking the classic pre-law major, if your interests tend that direction. And you’ll graduate with qualifications that can lead you to careers in state, local and federal government, business, law, journalism, finance, lobbying, and education.
