Do you care about the environment, civil rights, and the use and abuse of power? Do you want to study these subjects and create a career that develops from your interests?

Well, if you do, you have found the right place.In political science we study government the American government and other governments and governance, international affairs, and the political behavior of individuals and groups.

Concerned about jobs? You’ll acquire skills in research and writing, data analysis, and critical thinking that are vital to any job. You’ll be taking the classic pre-law major, if your interests tend that direction. And you’ll graduate with qualifications that can lead you to careers in state, local and federal government, business, law, journalism, finance, lobbying, and education.

Our department is ranked among the finest in the United States. Our faculty members teach and write about Ohio politics, presidential elections, the judicial system, political parties, voting behavior, public policy, and American lawmaking. They study the politics of the Middle East, Asia, Latin America, Eastern and Western Europe, and the former Soviet Union. Among us are experts on world trade, war, revolution, and the United Nations, among many other areas and topics.
