    Janet M. Box-Steffensmeier is the Vernal Riffe Professor of Political Science at The Ohio State University. She pursues research and teaching interests in American Politics, including legislative politics, public opinion, political behavior; and Political Methodology, particularly event history and time series analysis. She has published articles on these topics in the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Political Analysis, Legislative Studies Quarterly, and other journals. She is also the co-author (with Bradford Jones) of Event History Modeling: A Guide for Social Scientists (Cambridge University Press, 2003). Professor Box-Steffensmeier's current work, much of it funded by the National Science Foundation and other organizations, includes the analysis of repeated events duration models, the dynamics of the gender gap, heterogeneity in party identification at the individual level, and the study of temporal dynamics in international relations. She is a two-time recipient of the Gosnell Award for best work in political methodology, and was granted the Emerging Scholar Award by the Elections, Public Opinion, and Voting Behavior Section of the American Political Science Association.
