Welcome to my website. I'm Todd Makse, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at The Ohio State University. This is my fifth year in Columbus, after previously living in Houston, Texas, where I received my B.A. in political science, linguistics and Spanish from Rice University (2001), and subsequently worked as a research assistant at the Jesse Jones Graduate School of Management.
My primary research and teaching interests in American politics are in the areas of legislative elections, state politics and political parties. My dissertation research focuses on state legislative redistricting and party finance strategy in contesting state legislative elections.
