Welcome to my homepage.
I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Leitner Program for International and Comparative Political Economy at Yale University's MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies. I earned my PhD in the summer of 2011 from the Department of Political Science at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. In addition to my work in Political Science, in Fall 2009 I received an M.A. in Economics. I study comparative political economy, with specialization in the politics of Russia and the post-communist countries. My research focuses on weak political institutions, bureaucracy, and the regulation of economic activity. Currently, I am working on a book manuscript about bureaucratic discretion and its economic effects across the regions of the Russian Federation. Research related to this project has recently been accepted for publication at the Journal of Politics.
