Byungwon Woo

Ph.D. Candidate, Political Science

I am Byungwon Woo, a Ph.D. candidate in political science at the Ohio State University. I did my undergraduate at Yonsei University in South Korea where I received my B.A. in political science in 2003. After working in a banking sector (and earning real income) for a few months, I decided to come back to the Ohio State, where I had spent a year as an exchange student between 2001 and 2002, to pursue a Ph.D in political science. Since then, I have both enjoyed and endured my life as a graduate student. I received M.A. in political science in 2005, majoring in international relations and minoring formal theory and political methodology and currently, I am completing my dissertation on influence of domestic political institutions and domestic economic interests on IMF program negotiation and its final design. When I am not writing my dissertation, I write other papers many of which I have presented in various conferences. When I am not writing my dissertation nor other papers, I still think about them or I cook, play tennis, hang out with friends, or watch movies.
