I have recently received my Ph.D in Political Science from Ohio State University with specializations in International Relations and Political Psychology, and with an interdisciplinary specialization in Survey Research.

I have research interests in International Organization and Law, Political Psychology and Foreign Policy, and International Relations Theory. I am also interested in survey and experimental methods.

My research program is centered on integrating insights from political psychology and foreign policy decision-making into studies of international cooperation and global governance. I analyze how social and cognitive psychological dynamics affect policies on international institutionalization and influence politicians’ attitudes towards global governance structures. My current areas of focus are international law and compliance, institutional design, and supranational political identities.

In my dissertation, I bring together the key areas of  my research interests. My dissertation, entitled How International Law Obligates: International Identity, Legal Obligation, and Compliance in World Politics examines the psychological logic of international legal obligation and analyzes how international identities and perceptions of authority shape politicians’ willingness to defer to international law and preferences over compliance.
