Mary Cooper
Assistant Professor of Political Science
Professor Cooper's research and teaching
interests include comparative politics, political economy, and the politics of financial markets, with a focus on
China and East Asia. She is completing a book manuscript on the creation of stock exchanges in China. Other
current projects examine the impact of WTO membership on Chinese politics and society, including the dynamics of
public opinion within China on WTO and globalization, and the prospects for democratization.
